VISIT PUSAN

Pusan
Pusan (Busan) is located on the Southeastern tip of the Korean
peninsula. The natural environment of Busan is a perfect example of
harmony between mountains, rivers and sea. Its geography includes a
coastline with superb beaches and scenic cliffs, mountains which
provide excellent hiking and extraordinary views, and hot springs
scattered throughout the city.
The city is famous for its seafood and beaches, as well as the
Hallyosudo Waterway with its picturesque islands. The Busan fish market
has a huge selection of fresh seafood in the early morning. Although
primarily known as a port, the city has many steep hills, creating a
very unusual mix of mountains and ocean.
Busan has diverse shopping sites, including traditional markets,
department stores, duty free shops, supermarkets, 24-Hour convenience
stores and small grocery stores. Kuk-je, Busanjin and Chung-ang Markets
are traditional Korean market places. These areas consist of open
stands, small stores and street vendors. Jagalchi Market, market by the
seashore, sells various sea products. It is one of Busan's ten prides,
famous all over the country. The market always sells fresh seafood.
Stretching between Kukje Market and City Hall are over 1,000 shops
selling name brand goods. Many street vendors with handbags and
fashion accessories also line the streets offering very attractive
prices.
The greatest difference between Busan and other cities in Korea is that
Busan has ocean tours. This means that people can see the city and
surrounding areas by ship.
There is an effort to make the city a cultural tourist city through the
distinctive cultural festivals like Busan Sea Festival and the Busan
International Film Festival.
